A: Each application is specifically tailored to your lawns needs, the time of year, and your goals. Based on a customized plan, we apply the correct amount of the needed nutrients throughout the season.
-
A: Fall Core Aeration is all about building robust soil for the grass by allowing more flow of oxygen, water, and essential nutrients to easily travel into the roots. The grass grows, repairs, and flourishes by absorbing the nutrients and water. See our informative article on the benefits of aeration. Learn more
-
A: Organic lawn fertilizers increase the health of the soil, which is the foundation of your lawn’s health, by providing nutrients to the microorganisms in the soil. As they improve the quality, texter and water retention capabilities, your grass will become healthier and thrive.
-
A: It is recommended to keep everyone off the lawn until the applications are dry. Typically, this can take 1-3 hours.
-
A: A light raking before or after the first treatment is a good idea. If there are leaves or matted grass, a light rake will allow the surface to breathe, and the grass will green more quickly.
-
A: Yes! At our first visit we’ll evaluate your lawn, identify the types of weeds present, and develop a specific plan designed to restore your lawn using the proper time-specific herbicides. Results will vary depending on the amount and types of weeds. You will see results in 1-2 months, and improvement will continue all year. Don’t lose hope, it can be done!
-
A: The best time of year to seed is in the fall. If you need to seed during the spring or summer, we can discuss the best times, depending on your needs and timing of the applications. Seeding after the first spring application isn’t recommended, it contains pre-emergent crabgrass control which prevents seed germination.
-
A: This happens because of the type of weeds emerging. The herbicides that kill broadleaf weeds kill them on contact but not the seeds. There are no pre-emergent herbicides for broadleaf weeds. If you are seeing this more than 7 days after an application, call or email and we will discuss weed control options.

A: This is a great question, and correct mowing will increase the health of your lawn. There are a few things to keep in mind. First, when the mower wheels pass over the same area in the same direction each time you mow, this packs the soil underneath. Alternating the direction each time will prevent this [need to explain why this is a good thing]. It will also alternate the direction of the cut from the mower blades… [also needs to explain why this is a good thing]. Next, adjust your mower to only cut the top third of the grass blade. Finally, have your mower blades sharpened when needed, so it cuts, not tears the grass. If you’re interested in more details see our article on our information page Learn more

A: Usually, our first application is before the dandelions are actively growing so it doesn't affect them. We effectively treat dandelions once they appear. The size of the population will determine how many applications it will take to get all of them.
